I like your templates.

I am just curious on this one though - it seems that you have got zero points in ranged DPS?

Difficult to judge a ranged weapon DPS for a Beast Mastery Hunter because DPS is also function of the speed of the weapon.
The nearer from 2.70, the better (for the Auto Shot - Steady Shot DPS cycle). That's why there isn't a score for Ranged DPS.

These templates are a great start and I assume in time there will be some theorycrafting that will make them even more accurate. Anyone have any suggestions on how to modify them or improve them?

By putting 5 in the value for melee attack power and ranged attack power you are double valuing straight +attack power on most items. 1ap is not worth the same as 1agi. In fact 1 agi is worth slightly more than 2 ap. Don't have time to post all the math on it right now, but I'm sure you can find it on EJ or w/e if you're really curious.

Other than that it's in general a pretty good baseline to use. Just delete the 5 from the melee attack power value.

Int/MP5 looks overvalued to me.

The most recent of the posts in this thread, prior to yours, are over 1.5 years ago. Not only will their templates not reflect WotLK hunter mechanics very well, but LootRank's stat weighting input system was different -- these older version URLs confuse the new LootRank, as the format has changed, and you get a Page Not Found error.

I encourage you to do some research and find what some good, current Hunter stat weightings are for your spec, and make a LootRank weighting customized to your character and your gear.

You could start with this link as a baseline, as I'm fairly certain Hunters want each of the weighted stats. The proportions are sure to be off, at least slightly, and there are some leather pieces coming up as BiS -- whether or not they are BiS, you might choose to restrict leather from showing.
