What I c as next step for this great site would be a link to a wow addon which would compare items linked in chat with exported items from this website and only those which would be an upgrade.
Right now have to switch back and forth a huge long list of items which includes lots of downgraded gear (cut of at 0 and below). With export function that could be filterd out.
Then just need a wow addon able to catch item links from chat and campare it with the exported list. if true, a window pops up with item name u have.. item name as upgrade (what was just linked) and the gear index number related to ur item.
No more missing out on /rolls or bids..... reduce error getting items you though r an upgrade but it isn't.
far less distractions from following loot rolls/bids at restless raids

Hey Açe,
Interesting thought about having a LootRank addon to simplify gear choices in-game. But what you described can be achieved already through an addon called Pawn. (There might be other similar addons too)
Pawn does fundamentally exactly what LootRank's gear search does -- sums up a "gear points" total based on stat-weights you specify. Gear linked in chat will have the gear point total at the bottom with a label of whatever stat-weighting set you made up.
For example, I have 4 or 5 stat weights for my shaman,
PvE Enhance -- stat weights that purely max DPS PvP Ele -- emphasis on STA and resilience, while spellpower is still important etc PvE Resto PvE Ele
etc, and when I highlight a "Calamity's Grasp" link in trade chat, I can compare it to my equipped "The Masticator" and see that it has lower PvE Enhance gear points, and it would be a downgrade for the applicable spec.
What makes LootRank awesome is that fact that it combines a stat-weighting mechanic with a great loot database, and you can see all of the gear in the game, where to get it, and what is best for you (once you have the stat weights set up the way you want them).
LootRank could try to make an in-game addon, some kind of combination of AtlasLoot and Pawn, but the tools are already out there.
Hope this helps, Hungraa

I just convert my Lootrank tables to Pawn tables, so it is like using the same tool in both places. I would be happy if Lootrank just output a pawn scale that you could import. You can see an example of both things side by side in a post I just made, but of course I had to do the lootrank->pawn conversion myself, but it would be simple to do in PHP as well.
